Advent Wreath and Advent Calendar: Start Now

You know how it goes: It can take a while to make a detailed pattern for an Advent calendar. In addition, the Advent calendar still needs to be filled and possibly shipped. That’s why you’ll find delightful models for Advent calendars and Advent wreaths / Advent decorations here in this thread. Have fun with them.

1) A true classic is this very popular Advent calendar - the little bags are crocheted with the double stitch. This stitch provides an excellent base for embroidered motifs - there are no limits to your imagination here. The embroidery stitches as well as the double stitch are, of course, explained in detail. You receive the pattern for 2 different sizes and 8 motifs, as shown below. If you make each little bag 3 times in a different color combination, you’ll get 24 different little bags. The little bags can also be used wonderfully on their own as gift packaging or jewelry pouches - or you can enlarge them accordingly and make them into St. Nicholas bags. Have fun with it :-)

2) If you prefer something a little more playful, the "sweet gnome gang" is just right for you - the crochet pattern includes eight different gnome motifs as well as the little bags. The gnomes are small pouches that can be filled; even nail polish and lipstick fit inside. They are closed with a transparent elastic ring that is placed around the nose.

3) The 2nd part of the popular bag calendar with eight more enchanting models - Advent Calendar for "Fashionistas 2.0". The individual little bags offer enough space to hide small surprises for loved ones, e.g. sweets, jewelry, pretty stones, vouchers, cash gifts, cosmetics, small perfume bottles, small toys, figurines, etc.
In addition to the eight bag models, you receive the pattern for the little mice with a bobble hat and scarf, which make an adorable addition to the little bags. On top of that, there is a numbering set for your Advent calendar designed and created by me - you receive three different color designs as a PDF file to print out (see pictures in my shop).

My Knight’s Castle Advent Calendar is one of the patterns in my store that fits this description: straightforward, but somewhat time-consuming.

With an Advent calendar, however, the effort is almost unavoidable—after all, it consists of 24 compartments. So, to make a calendar as stress-free as possible, you should start early enough.



The Knight’s Castle calendar is made of cardstock and measures approximately 18.5 x 34 x 18.5 cm. The tower in the middle can be removed: it serves as a container for gifts that don’t fit into the small numbered compartments.

This Advent calendar is sustainable because it can be reused every year. The “Tannenwald” Advent calendar consists of 24 small trees of varying sizes, hollow on the inside, where you can hide your Advent surprises. This makes for a beautiful decoration for the entire Advent season and the Christmas season that follows, which you can also enhance with additional decorative elements (animals, Santa Claus, little angels).

With this Advent calendar, most of the boxes are hidden. They only drop down one at a time when you pull out the visible boxes.



The calendar is made from photo cardstock and has a compact size of approx. 12.8 x 12.8 x 12.8 cm.  The individual containers are approx. 6 x 2 x 5.5 cm. To make sure everything fits together in the end, you should work very precisely and accurately; otherwise, the calendar is easy to make.
