how can clothing stay beautiful longer?

When caring for your clothes, you should follow the instructions on the care labels—that way, you’re on the safe side and can hardly go wrong. Above all, don’t just throw everything in the dryer, even if the fabric can handle it. BUT, in the dryer, the fibers rub against each other, and over time, this causes the garment to become thinner and thinner. Delicate natural fibers like silk and wool should be washed by hand with a mild detergent whenever possible—I really like using a mild, inexpensive shampoo for this. You should also avoid the spin cycle with these fabrics; just gently squeeze out the water and lay them on a drying rack to air-dry. If that’s too much trouble, you can also take your clothes to a dry cleaner. But be careful—they aren’t exactly gentle there and tend to throw everything together into a huge washing drum. I know this because I used to work at a dry cleaner’s, and since then I’ve hardly ever taken anything there.
