A rare snapshot

This hummingbird hawk-moth made an appearance for two seconds:

A beautiful photo. 

We haven't had a hummingbird hawk-moth in the garden yet. 

The hummingbird hawk-moth was here for the second time today.
The first time was a few weeks ago.
Back then, we’d also seen another one out and about.

We’ve got one buzzing around here, too. Sometimes in the front yard on the sage and lavender, sometimes in the back yard on the mallows and hibiscus. They go for petunias, too—even though I always thought there wasn’t anything in them 😅
I watched it the day before yesterday; it almost looks like a hummingbird. It was darting back and forth—you automatically follow it with your head when you’re watching it. People walking by probably thought I was having some kind of strange twitch, since they couldn’t see the hummingbird hawk-moth😂

A few days ago, the hummingbird hawk-moth returned.
This time, it stayed for two minutes.


When it was first spotted a few years ago, some people called various places saying they’d seen a hummingbird.

I can imagine. I've never seen one here before. Great photos!
