What are you up to on this rainy Thursday evening?

It’s cloudy here, but it’s not raining. We just finished eating, and now I’m going to sit down at my laptop for a bit and keep working on my next CAL. 

It didn’t rain here today.

I had some lovely visitors in the garden at lunchtime—Henry enthusiastically got himself and the garden completely soaked.

And in the evening, the kids came over for dinner. We cooked outside and ate outside, too. The temperatures were very pleasant. 

Who is Henry?

I’m all for the weekend always starting on Thursday.

I’d love to start with Thursday, too.

Henry is the young son of my son’s best friend. At just 3 years old, he’s such a friendly kid—a ray of sunshine. He spent over an hour watering my flowers—and himself—with the watering can. But it was so warm that it was a real joy to keep refilling the can for him. 

It’s always the weekend here, even on Thursdays! :-)
But where is it raining? It hasn’t rained here in ages, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon. Although the greater Cologne area is actually a real dry spot—it really hasn’t been this dry in a long time.
But just to be on the safe side: Have a great weekend, everyone!
And now I’m going to get back to working on the swap package....

here in Bavaria we have a persistent rain warning and a flood warning.

Oh dear, it’s always these extremes again. Well, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that it “only” gets wet!

Yes, a warning has been issued, but so far the rain hasn’t reached us yet—except for a few drops last night. Well, it’s still to come. And nature really needs it. We’re hoping for the best and that everything goes well.

Tomorrow we’re invited to a friends’ place for a fish barbecue. Of course, it’s a shame that it’s supposed to rain then of all times. We’ll make the best of it anyway—

Thankfully, it rained here yesterday evening and overnight. There was a full 2 cm in the containers. That’s not much, but it’s still a ray of hope after the long dry spell. I’m happy for all the plants and also for the farmers, who desperately need rain.

It’s been raining here since last night—just a light, pleasant drizzle. The garden and the snails are happy about it.

Here where we are (about 25 km west of Nuremberg), it’s been pouring nonstop since 3:30 p.m. So far, 58 liters per square meter 😳…and we weren’t even in the DWD’s warning zone. Hopefully there won’t be any flooding.

This morning we took a walk to an old pear tree.
The pears still need a little while before they’re ripe, though.

This morning is perfect: It’s pouring rain outside (which was sorely needed here in Switzerland, too), I’m enjoying some peace and quiet here, listening to my favorite music, and crocheting while my partner is still sleeping in.
