I’m still finishing up the patterns for the Christmas tree ornaments. Then they’ll be tested

Other than that, the English version of Camila is currently being tested.

I’m knitting a scarf for Lisa.
I’m making it in mock brioche stitch.
I also have some old yarn hanging up to dry and smooth out. I’ll turn it into dishcloths.

My granddaughter is staying with me again this week for the holidays. The other night we were drawing together, and she drew a butterfly. When she was done, she said, “Grandma, what if we could embroider this?” I said, “Sure, I just need to photograph it and save it in my program.” Yesterday after swimming, we got started on it. Here’s what it looks like—I’m going to embroider it today.

Best regards, Inge

That’s great, Inge, that you can digitize the painted butterflies. All the other kids only have their artwork on temporary paper, but you can preserve them permanently. If you put it on a T-shirt for her, she’ll always have a lovely memory of that week at her grandparents’ house.

@everyone else—your creations are also very beautiful, colorful, and imaginative.

Best regards, Ina

You’ve created some really beautiful pieces.
I’m working on an embroidery project for the start of school.
My little girl loves deer—they have to be everywhere. Unfortunately, I don’t have any patterns for it—just a picture.
That makes it difficult but also interesting; it gives it a unique touch.

I’m going to sit down at the sewing machine now. My little girl’s pants need to be repaired or mended. Not the most exciting task, but it needs to be done.

Here are photos of the dishcloth I’ve started and Lisa’s scarf.

Both are still in the early stages.

We just got back from Portugal, and I got to wear my new dresses...

Both were finished just before the vacation.

Since it’s supposed to rain here again starting tomorrow, my sewing machines will have plenty to do. I really need to whittle down my fabric stash a bit.
Best regards, Ellen

Ellen, I’d like that bottom dress, too.

The cat blanket is finally finished; yesterday and today I spent my time just clearing out, going through, and sorting things. Yarn, wish lists, patterns—just everything.
I’ve printed out my next projects (yes, I’m still old-fashioned and love paper…), and now it’s time to get back to crocheting.

You’re all so hardworking....
I really like both dresses 😍 I wish I could sew too.... I can’t even manage a straight seam with the machine....
Right now I’m knitting a circle.... But not in the round, back and forth instead... with short rows and a cable pattern....
I’ve already knitted a quarter of it....

“At the end,” the provisional cast-on is joined to the active stitches using Kitchener stitch, then stitches are picked up all around and short rows turn it into a “rectangle”.... I’m currently knitting the back piece of a cardigan....

@Steffi,
what is duplicate stitch?

Stitches are being “sewn together”.... So if you’ve made a provisional cast-on, like I’ve done here, you pick up the stitches onto the needle—and then you have the beginning of your work on one end of the needle and your active stitches on the other.... Now you can sew these stitches together.... The great thing is, you can barely see it afterward—so there’s no seam... With sweaters and jackets, this is often done at the shoulder. Here, the shoulder stitches aren’t bound off but are set aside for now, and then the back and front pieces are joined together.... It looks like it was knitted all in one piece....

I’m giving my Johanna a practical sewing lesson right now, because she wants to sew herself a crossbody phone bag that will also fit her wallet and keys.

Best regards, Inge

You’re all so hardworking. Hats off to you—especially in this heat. Anyway, it’s so hot and humid here today that the only place you can really stand it is in the basement. When rain and thunderstorms are expected in the evening or at night, it has to get humid first—and you can really feel it.

Still, I’m wandering around the house and getting a little creative. First, I cooked down 3 kg of strawberries from the freezer into jam (we needed the space). Then I washed my newly knitted winter sweater and laid it out to dry. It still needs to be steamed. And then I want to add fringe to my second temperature blanket. Let’s see what I’m capable of in this heat.

I wish everyone a refreshing evening.

Warm regards, Ina

I’m currently crocheting a little motivational octopus for everyone on my team at work who wants one, because we’re really busy right now

That’s such a cute idea!

I’ve finally started on my Halloween decorations—somehow I always miss the chance to get started on time, but now I’m going to see it through: first Halloween, then Christmas, then Easter, then summer.... Let’s see how long this plan lasts....

I couldn’t really get motivated this evening either.

I crocheted an L for the word chain “Halloween”.

I’d like to use it to decorate my pumpkins from last year.

That’s sure to look great with the pumpkins....
I haven’t done much knitting the last few days—we had roofers here 🙈. I didn’t realize it would be so loud. Now the new roof is on our house, and starting Monday, the scaffolding that’s been “hugging” our house for the past 4 weeks will finally be gone....
I’ve now knitted the first half of my circle and I’m still totally fascinated that it’s actually turning out round....

Wow, that looks really great.

The different cables must be really exciting, but I bet you have to concentrate really hard.

....there are 68 stitches on the needle; it’s knitted back and forth in rows, with short rows....
I have an audiobook playing in the background, and then I knit row by row; it works up quite quickly. 🙈 One pattern repeat has 32 rows, so that’s fairly "short" and easy to knit "in between".
I don’t usually spend that much money on a pattern, but I absolutely had to know how to knit a circle without a set of double-pointed needles or anything like that 🙈😇

That’s a really great cable pattern.
