Starting School / Starting Kindergarten / Changing Schools

Dear users, dear authors,
How’s it going with the start of school / start of kindergarten / changing schools?

Here, summer holidays have only just started for us, Josefa :-) so we’re not even thinking about that yet—
Today my youngest grandson started his apprenticeship as a warehouse and logistics specialist. He’d been really excited since yesterday afternoon, my daughter told me this morning :-)
Now we only have one school-age child left; he’ll be starting 7th grade at the Gymnasium in September.

Yes, Josefa, when we celebrated my daughter’s 50th birthday over the weekend, I saw all my grandchildren together again. As they were all sitting together on the bench, one of my daughters said, “Mom, are these our kids?” I just grinned and said, “What am I supposed to say? Look at you and your sisters :-) You’re all getting to that creaky age now, when everything starts creaking in the rafters :-)”

Here in North Rhine-Westphalia, school and kindergarten start again next week! Our second child is also moving on to high school—such an exciting time!

Next year will be our last first day of school, when our fourth child starts school.
