Dear users, dear authors,
mixing materials is a great way to add more variety and interest to a project. Would you like to give it a try?

@Authors,
2–3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget to include links, pictures, information, etc.

For the stuffed animals
Bunny Hoppel
and
Cat Mauzi
three different types of yarn are used: we crochet the head, paws, and tail with thin chenille yarn (e.g., Katia Velvet fine); for the body, we use colorful cotton yarn and matching plush yarn. Since the body is not stuffed with fiberfill, you can crochet double crochet stitches here, which makes finding the stitches in the plush yarn incredibly easier.
The result is a stuffed animal for babies that is extremely interesting to touch. The different textures of the yarns encourage the baby to feel their little animal again and again, which strengthens their senses and imagination. This way, they will stay engaged with their favorite animal for a long time.

Also for the
Warming Monkey Bibo
different materials are used. The body, which is a cover for a grain pillow and needs to withstand heat, is crocheted with cotton yarn. But to make the little animal a real cuddly friend to snuggle with, we crochet the head and limbs from cuddly-soft plush yarn.

Mixing materials when sewing is something I really enjoy. For my youngest granddaughter’s White Sunday, I sewed myself a set consisting of linen pants, a cotton long blouse, and a reversible short jacket made from both fabrics.

Best regards, Inge

Funpun is a top-down raglan that you can crochet for yourself using all kinds of leftover yarn.
The only thing to pay attention to is the hook size.
Funpun is crocheted with yarns for hook size 3.

The four-page PDF file consists of step-by-step instructions and is beginner-friendly.

Here I’ll show you a few designs using different types of yarn

Felted doll shoes. This project combines crochet and knitting, felting wool and merino yarn.

For this crocheted triangular shawl I crocheted together lots of different leftover yarns. Merino, mohair, angora, all nicely mixed together.
The shawl is crocheted from top to bottom and the pattern spans 2 rows.

For these knitted baby shoes I also used a fluffy yarn. The pattern is created with slipped stitches.

The Swea scarf is knitted with 100g of Turin (sock yarn) and 25g of Mohair Lace.
This makes it wonderfully light, and the patterns are absolutely beginner-friendly. It can also be worn very nicely as an infinity scarf.

As with all my window decorations, I’ve used two materials here that are perfect for this type of decoration: black photo cardstock and colorful tracing paper.

The flowers shown measure a maximum of 18.9 x 20.3 cm; they’re very easy to recreate and pair well with these butterflies from my store.
