Oh Sonja, I love Steinhuder Meer. I used to go there on vacation quite often when my son was little. And I went back there again a few years ago. It’s a very special place for me.
We have a friend visiting, and on Sunday we’re going to the farm festival at the Winklhof. It’s an organic farm with its own café and alpacas that you can go hiking with. They also have lots of special treats there, like different kinds of fine vinegars.
Since the temperatures here are moderate—around 25–26 degrees—it’s the perfect weather for it.
I wish you all a sunny weekend, too.
It’s been so long since my last vacation, unfortunately. I’m going to make myself comfortable in a shady spot in the garden and keep working on my crochet project. Of course, only after I’ve taken care of my husband, the dog, all the terrarium animals, and all the plants ;-)
We had family over for dinner yesterday. We had guests from Taiwan—it was so lovely and the food was delicious. I made a beet salad (among other things).
Today I’m going on a bike ride to the yarn shop—I want to buy some cotton for a new idea. The rest of the weekend will be spent relaxing in the garden and planning activities for next week; we have a week of vacation coming up.
That all sounds wonderful—whatever you have planned... and the beet salad looks delicious, too. I wish everyone a lovely, relaxing weekend.
After working hard all week, I’ve given myself the weekend “off.” So I’ll just do whatever I feel like doing. And that definitely includes picking up my crochet hook for my new project. The weather is just right for it, so I can sit out in the garden. In the afternoon, it’ll be coffee and cake. If you make it nice for yourself, you’ll have a great time!
I’d also like to wish you all a wonderful weekend.
I’m just going to put my feet up—things have been a bit of a mess around here again. Our freezer is acting up (great—just when the temperatures are perfect for it), and a pack of ice cream right in the middle suddenly turned liquid, while everything around it was still frozen.
Since I’d just stocked it up, the risk of having to throw everything away was too high—the service tech isn’t coming to check it until early August. So I quickly ordered an affordable replacement from Amazon, which is now sitting in the living room since there’s no room anywhere else, and rearranged everything.
Aside from two packs of ice cream and some bread, I didn’t have to throw anything away—I got lucky.
