Owls + Turtles: Do You Need More Supplies?

here in this thread you’ll find new and tried-and-true patterns for beautiful owls and turtles. There’s sure to be an enchanting model here that you can start right away.

2-3 patterns per author are enough. Don’t forget links, images, info, etc. 

Here you can add a very special owl to your collection. It’ll be a hit with your family, since it reliably guards the room door. That way, everyone can see right away whether visitors are welcome or not. Even when the baby is sleeping, the guard owl clearly signals “STOP.”

The owl is very easy to crochet—even beginners can do it. Basic crochet skills are required.

Knitted and eco-friendly dishcloths / washcloths / potholders are totally on trend.
I’d be happy to show you 2 of my patterns featuring knitted owl motifs.
They are knitted using only knit and purl stitches, and even as a
beginner, you’ll end up with the beautiful owl motifs.
You can also use these for children’s sweaters or for preemie blankets.
By using thicker yarn and larger needles, you can change the motif size.

Potholders "Crazy Owls"
The "Crazy Owls" are a statement for Crazy Patterns! The owls are crocheted in the colors of the Crazy Patterns logo. They are made double-layered so you can use them like a glove. The scale pattern on the belly and wings is explained in detail in the pattern.

 Chef Owl
The little owl chef is crocheted around an empty Kinder Surprise egg capsule. This lets you open the owl at the belly and hide a small surprise inside, such as a gift certificate. Or you can use the little chef as a keychain and keep your shopping cart token in its belly.

I have a new addition in my shop. It’s the little red owl. It’s easy and fairly quick to crochet. It’s also great for using up leftover yarn and makes a lovely little gift.

I’d also like to introduce you to another owl of mine. This time it’s a snowy owl. Once finished, it will be a soft and fluffy cuddly toy measuring 27 cm.

How about a jumping jack owl?
You can play with it just like any other jumping jack figure, and when you don’t feel like playing, it simply hangs on the wall as a pretty decoration.



The owl is made from photo cardstock and measures approx. 22.5 x 27.5 cm. You’ll receive a very detailed but unillustrated pattern, so you definitely need some crafting experience for this.

This family of turtles is looking for a new home—they’re happy to be useful as washcloths or dishcloths. Knitted with thick cotton, it also works as a pot holder—after all, turtles have a thick shell to protect them from the heat ;-)

The cloth is very easy to knit, using only knit and purl stitches. Since each row is written out stitch by stitch in the pattern, even beginners with basic skills can give it a try.
