Working with Summer Cotton

do you have any tips for working with cotton for summer designs? Are there advantages / disadvantages? How is the fit? Are crocheted / knitted cotton designs actually comfortable in summer? Would you like to share your experiences? Is it pleasant to work with cotton even in summer temperatures? What about sewing with cotton for summer designs?
