It’s terribly muggy; it rained all night and this morning, but it didn’t refresh or cool things down—it’s absolutely stifling. And it looks like it’ll stay that way for now—frequent rain, but no relief from the heat. Oh well, the main thing is that water is coming from above, so that’s not bad either.
Tomorrow is my sister-in-law’s birthday, so I’ll be heading over there to see the family, chat, laugh, and just tune out the rest of the world for a bit.
Other than that, I’ve let myself be talked into knitting another adult-sized cat blanket—that’s going to take quite a bit of time.
Thanks, Josefa, and have a great weekend, everyone here.
The weather here is also very oppressive and headache-inducing, and it’s supposed to get even hotter this weekend than it already is—so it’s the kind of weather where you’re better off staying indoors.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Unfortunately, the heat is still lingering. No relief in sight. If you open the windows, all that comes in is warm air anyway.
It was so nice at the Baltic Sea.
I made a special trip into town today to buy a small table fan. No luck. The ones available start at 50–70 euros and up. Nah, thanks. Guess I’ll just keep sweating. Darn.
They’re probably hard to find in this sweltering heat.
Since the birthday gift is finished, I can get back to crocheting.
It’s just too hot for me. Since I’m drying some greens for my bunnies 🐇, this weather is perfect.
And tomorrow we’re celebrating a birthday. Luckily, it’s not mine.
We had a big family gathering at our place yesterday. Children and grandchildren were running around in my garden. We had delicious strawberry cake made with deep-red, sweet strawberries from my garden. In the evening, we had a barbecue with homemade dark bread and herb butter. The weather was on our side, too. There was plenty of sun, rain showers, and even thunderstorms. But the grandchildren found that especially exciting. They played in our garden pavilion while the big raindrops drummed on the roof.
After the rain, all the slugs crawled out of the strawberry patch and onto the lawn. The kids were very eager and collected them all with little shovels. I would have been disgusted, but the kids didn’t mind at all. There must have been about 50 to 60 of them. In any case, they can’t harm my strawberries anymore.
Today is my day off. My husband went fishing, and I’m about to make myself comfortable in the shade with some needlework.
It’s rainy here today and has cooled off quite a bit, so it’s just the right weather to finally write up a new pattern—which is actually the more tedious part.
I’d much rather knit than deal with the paperwork.
But I still have one week of vacation left, and the weather’s supposed to get better again, so then I’ll definitely have even less motivation to write it up.
