Decorative borders

Dear users and authors,
do you have any tips for decorative borders on handmade projects?

You can actually incorporate or add trims almost anywhere if you like—for example, as a border on a blouse or shirt around the chest area, as an eye-catcher on the legs or hem of jeans, as a highlight on jackets, etc., or as a finishing touch on a tablecloth or handkerchiefs. It’s all been done before, and it’s all coming back because, after all, the wheel has already been invented :-)
