Thanks, I hope so too!
Tonight is girls’ night—we’re going to the beer garden. I’m really looking forward to it.
If it’s still this nice and sunny tomorrow, we’ll see if we can manage a little walk. It depends on how I feel that day, since my husband only has a forearm crutch so far—his walker hasn’t arrived yet.

We’ve been on vacation since yesterday. It’s wonderful here, and we’re enjoying all the nature.

I hope you all have a great weekend

I wish you all a wonderful weekend. If you happen to miss me next week, don’t worry—everything is fine. My youngest granddaughter is coming to visit tomorrow, so I’ll have very little time for the internet and such. She’ll be staying with Grandma and Grandpa until Thursday :-) Only until Thursday, because her mom, my youngest, has her birthday then. :-)

Best regards, Inge

Wishing all vacationers and summer lovers a wonderful weekend.

I'm glad, Inge, that your granddaughter is keeping you company for a few days. How old is your youngest granddaughter? And is she interested in sewing too, or does she just tell you what she wants and then you sew it for her? Or do you bake something together, or what kinds of things is she interested in?

Veronika, yes, just take small steps with your husband. Do what works right now, and don't get impatient. Everything takes time to get used to. And summer is only just beginning. Once the walker is there, the two of you can go for a stroll more often. In our neighborhood, lots of older folks go for walks this way too ... and then they stop by our place and enjoy our garden and listen to our frogs. You become more modest and enjoy things more when your options become fewer. In any case, I hope you have a lovely time at the beer garden this evening.

I'm about to spend some time on my current yarn project. Everything is ready. My husband is taking care of the cooking today, since he went fishing yesterday. In return, I watered the garden for hours yesterday. I just still have to pick strawberries today. Tomorrow I want to make jam.

Best regards, Ina

Thanks, Ina. She’s been sewing most of her own shirts since she was 7; her mom learned from me and her older sister, who’s also a seamstress. My granddaughter was interested in sewing from the very beginning and wanted to learn, too. Of my five grandchildren, two showed an interest in sewing: the younger son of my oldest daughter, who came to me when he was about 8 and asked if I could teach him (he’ll turn 17 this month, and right now it’s not cool :-)) ) and, of course, my granddaughter. She’ll turn 12 in August. She’s a sweetheart and has already caught up to me in height—the girl is just under 165 cm and wears a size 41 in shoes. Well, her dad is about 190 cm and her mom is 180 cm, so she was never going to be tiny.

Best wishes, Inge

Thank you, Inge, for your comments. Now I know that you and your granddaughter are going to have some really great, creative days. It’s wonderful when talents are passed down through the family… you, your daughter, and your granddaughter. That makes for some really great exchanges. Everyone has different tastes, after all. You all have the expertise, but the younger generation brings in fresh ideas. That keeps you all young, and a shared hobby always brings people together.

Best regards, Ina
