Doll updates: how are your dolls doing?

how are your dolls doing?

My Finn is happy—he got a new hat today.

Oh Marion, the new hat looks great—it really suits your Finn.

I finished two diapers for the little ones today. Here’s a photo. I crocheted them using some leftover yarn. They’re for Juna’s little doll baby—I have the same one. That way, I can always keep the supply stocked. Once the Velcro fasteners are attached, I’ll post a photo with a model.

Most people here have baby dolls. I, on the other hand, have a soft spot for the little dress-up dolls. I’ve given them new outfits, too. Take a look… I’ve crocheted so many things. I like the turquoise-green and the ochre ones best. Let’s see what my granddaughter Bella thinks of them. She’s coming to visit me at the end of May, and she always plays with my dolls when she’s here. And of course, she always picks out some things to take home with her. She’s even given me one of her own dolls as a gift. She did, however, “redo” the doll’s makeup with a felt-tip pen.

I’ve already had a chance to admire your summer collection for your little dolls. All your “models” look so chic in it. Simply fantastic. Every doll has found the perfect shade for her.

Wow, Ina! What a lovely collection you have! It must be a dream come true for your granddaughter. They all look great in their colorful outfits.

I’ve now finished a diaper with Velcro fasteners. Here’s what little Merle looks like wearing it:



My dolls were played with again yesterday. 

Yesterday I tried to jazz up Rieke’s little pink-and-gray dress with an apron. I’ll probably have to use filet yarn for that. Catania yarn would make it too bulky.

Ina, you’ve crocheted a great collection for your little dolls. I used to do that, too. I don’t have a Barbie anymore—my son took hers at some point. For whatever reason...

Your grandkids play with the little dolls, and at my place, my friend rummages through the dresses and stuff. That’s just how it is with big and little kids... lol.

That’s so funny, Marlies, that your friend is interested in the little dresses. It’s so nice, now that we’re this age, to make up for what we didn’t have back then—at least not the way we do today.
