Sewing, Crocheting, and Knitting Ruffles

Dear users, dear designers,
Are there any tips on the topic of ruffles?

I don’t have any tips. But I’ll show you my shawl, which I finished off by knitting ruffles onto it. I really love it, and I have to say, I used quite a lot of yarn for it.

Ruffles use quite a bit of yarn.
They’re created by working multiple stitches into a single stitch.

About 20 years ago, I sewed a custom-made dirndl for my youngest daughter because she was participating in our traditional dances at the parish fair back then—she wanted ruffles on the front of the bodice. I spent days working on her dirndl, and she was beaming when she could finally wear it.
