As a kid, I absolutely hated pink. (And generally anything in the pink/rose/purple/… range.)
At some point, I started to like it.
Nowadays, I like pink accents or something like that on clothes, but head-to-toe bright pink is an absolute no-go for me personally!
Even today, I still think little girls shouldn’t be dressed exclusively in these colors—somehow everything has become very samey, because everyone just walks around in pink/rose.
Maybe even mixed with purple and green? No thanks—I don’t like walking around looking like a parrot :-) In pink, I look like Death’s traveling salesman.
Personally, I really like dark magenta. It goes well with my silver hair. Starting in the spring, I always have a nice tan on my face because I spend a lot of time in the garden, so bold colors suit me. What I really don’t like are beige, gray, and light brown. I’d much rather go with pink.
The trend for little girls is moving away from pink. None of the young moms I know necessarily want pink or fuchsia-colored clothes for their kids. Even with children’s clothing for the youngest kids, there are color trends. But everyone should decide for themselves—or, wisely, ask the parents of the little ones.
Oh yes, I really like pink, but not paired with purple and green :-)))). I like bold and cheerful colors; I also really like a nice turquoise, and all shades of blue, of course.
I pair pink either with light blue jeans or with black or white. Those “age-appropriate” beige and gray shades aren’t my thing at all—I’d much rather go for something bold and colorful.
Since I almost exclusively wear jeans in light or dark blue and black, my outfits never end up looking too colorful.
What I really like: shoes and a shirt in the same shade—and that includes pink, too.
I like pink.
I feel the same way as Veronika. It goes great with dark or blue jeans.
Or a pink scarf or shawl with a soft pink coat or black blazer.
While shopping yesterday, a short pink leather jacket caught my eye—unfortunately, they didn’t have my size. Such a shame. Otherwise, I would have bought it.
I need some color in my life.
I like pink and bold colors in general. They really suit me, too. Brown, beige, and black just don’t work for me at all. I couldn’t look any sicker.
Best regards
Last summer, I was getting a manicure and had my nails painted neon pink afterward. A woman my age was sitting next to me; she looked at her selection of pale pink and nude shades, glanced at me, and said that was pretty daring. I just said, “It draws attention away from my belly.”
She looked at me for just a tenth of a second, laughed, and said, “You’re right—I’ll go with purple!”
There was a documentary or something like that once—I only remember the title: “And Eventually, Everything Is Beige.” It was also about getting older and how you can sometimes be pushed into corners you never actually wanted to be in.
I have a friend who wears almost nothing but black and gray, and she looks very elegant in it. But that doesn’t suit everyone, and it certainly doesn’t suit me. And the other day I caught her with a bright red handbag—haha, things are looking up! :-))
Autumn colors suit me best; I really like them too, and autumn does get quite colorful as well. But it’s definitely not pink, as written above — if I wore pink, I’d look like death warmed over. Best regards, Inge
It’s not my thing—so bright, yes; pink, no. If I liked pink, I’d probably wear it anyway; I don’t worry about color types. I prefer to dress in dark, colorful clothes, no matter how pale I am 🙂
Right now, fuchsia is available as a color in clothing stores, especially for men. I’m not sure whether the color is also available for women.
If you like it.
Best regards, Gabi
