Dear users, dear authors,
What’s the point of leg warmers / arm warmers? Do you like warmers?

Leg warmers to keep snow out of your shoes (in case it ever snows) or to keep your feet warm

I like to wear arm warmers at work to protect the fabric from marks left by my injuries. Or just during the cold season.

Best regards, GABI

I wear leg warmers. Mostly at home during the cold season with my 7/8 leggings and sweatpants.

But also when we go out. Sometimes there’s a draft, and when I wear leg warmers, I don’t feel as cold and I feel more comfortable overall. I’m a bit of a cold-weather wimp 😂

Extra warmth and extra style. Unlike scarves, shawls, turtlenecks, and the like, I really enjoy wearing arm and leg warmers. I’m also planning to crochet both myself. I’ve already sewn some arm warmers.

I’ve knitted myself some arm and leg warmers for the reasons mentioned above—they provide extra warmth.

Best regards, Inge

I’ve crocheted several pairs of leg warmers for myself. I mainly wear them in the evening while watching TV, when I don’t have to walk around much anymore. I wear arm warmers when I’m biking, especially under jackets with slightly wider sleeves, where drafts tend to get in.

I sometimes wear arm warmers in cold weather when the sleeves of a jacket or sweater are a little short.

Those are all very good points. In winter, you need that extra warmth right around the ankles. Warm ankles = warm feet. Regular socks with pants over them can’t always provide that.

I recommend these genuine wool arm warmers to anyone who has wrist problems. They keep you warm and protect your wrists. People who spend a lot of time working at desks and on keyboards are especially grateful for this extra warmth and the relief it provides for their joints. I knitted these for my daughter-in-law.

Young girls and women tend to wear leg warmers more for fashion reasons. The shoes have to match the leg warmers, and the yarn has to be something special, too. You can wear leg warmers under or over your pants. I definitely prefer real wool—otherwise, all that nice looks don’t amount to anything.

Best regards, Ina

As mentioned above, I wear leg warmers around the house, either with 7/8-length leggings or with pajama pants that are a bit too short. The same goes for shirts with 7/8 sleeves—in that case, the leg warmers double as arm warmers.
