are you doing well?

All in all, I’m doing pretty well right now, but I’m a little worried about my youngest daughter’s family—all three of them have caught the Omicron variant. My granddaughter brought it home from school, and within 2 1/2 days, all three were infected. My daughter just said matter-of-factly, “Let’s get through this together and get it over with all at once, rather than one after another, which could drag on for weeks.” She’s right, of course, and I’m not surprised either, because in her hometown the numbers are always hovering around 3,000—it was just a matter of time before they caught it. Luckily, my daughter and son-in-law are boosted, and my granddaughter has had two shots.

Best regards, Inge

Inge, all the best to your daughter and family.

I’m doing well. My daughter and her family also had COVID-19, but everyone is doing well again. Our grandson had a slight fever for just one day—nothing more, thank goodness. I was spared, even though I was in the office with my daughter every day.

I’m enjoying the sun, the flowers, and my crafts.

We (my husband, my daughter with her family, and I) have been spared from COVID-19. Since my daughter is going back to daycare in a month, things could look different.

I hope that at some point in the future I’ll be able to work more hours, since I’m working there in a mini-job.

Best regards, Gabi

So far, I’m doing fine, except right now—after the late shift—I’m totally wiped out. There were only two of us for over 25 residents, one qualified staff member for two floors (because of the meds).
My feet hurt, and I barely made it onto my bus. I had three minutes to spare.
Staff shortages, illness. It’s awful.

On Sunday, I went with my parents for afternoon coffee and dancing. It was a really nice afternoon. It did me good. I recharged my “batteries.”

I hope most of you are still healthy, and I wish those who are sick a speedy recovery.

Sleep well
Best regards, Andrea

First of all, I hope everyone who isn’t feeling so well gets better soon. I’m doing okay today—my lupus has gone into remission for now, which I’m glad about, since it’s been a tough time and flare-ups can happen at any moment. But for now, everything’s fine. I wish everyone a great week. Warm regards, Veronika

Yeah, I’ll throw in a bunch of “get well soon” wishes here too—it never hurts!
So far, COVID has spared us and our loved ones—what a relief! We’ve since had our fourth vaccine shot, and today (just like after the first one) we slept through almost the entire day. My upper arm is hot and red, but that’s the only side effect I’ve had—not too bad, right?

Wishing you all a speedy recovery.

The news has really been getting me down lately. Just when I think COVID-19 is slowly subsiding, war breaks out. What on earth is going on with our world??? How is it possible that individual dictators can cause such havoc?

BUT, today was a truly wonderful day for me—the first in a long time. We’re having the patio redone—the contractor is booked, and the pavers are ordered. It’s nice to have something to look forward to again.

Then there’s my car—I’ve written about it before. Today was the day. My little one is now a classic car and has received its historic license plate. Now it’s official. We’re both part of the old guard. :)

All spiffed up for this special day? A cute little speedster.

That really is a cute little gem! I’m also eagerly waiting for weather for driving with the top down.

It was specially prepared for the appraisal. After all, my little treasure is already 31 years old.

I can describe it in one word: mixed.
