I’m not familiar with sock animals (I checked out your link, of course).
But yesterday I gave away a hobby horse—I’d bought it secondhand and then gave it away on a flea market platform—and it was also made from an old sock.
And I once made potatoes out of old pantyhose for my grandson’s play store. Unfortunately, there aren’t any pictures of that.
Yeah, I liked it so much back then that I picked it up for 2 euros. It’s really well made. But now my grandson is too big for it—horses are just for girls—so I gave it away.
Unfortunately, I don’t know. In any case, the head was really hard and solid. I think it was well stuffed. The stick went a little way into the head. I never tried to move the head, though. After all, you only ever rode on the stick. You’d shout “huah!” and run off.
I once made horses like these out of pool noodles and socks for a kids’ birthday party (theme: knights). The kids got to take their horses home afterward.
