Do you like braided patterns?

Yes, I like the braided pattern. I’ve already embroidered blankets and hats.

I also once knitted a jacket using post double crochet, which ended up looking like it was woven—or braided.

I usually knit this pattern.

Inge, the bags are great. Was your braided pattern part of the fabric itself, or did you sew lots of little squares together to form a large piece?

The second one looks like a scrap bag. The fabrics go great together. 

Thanks, Petra, but this is JUST a bag—strips are cut and then braided together.

I like cable patterns, too. But I prefer them as a decorative border on an otherwise stockinette-stitch piece. That way, the eye is immediately drawn to the cable section. Here’s an example of my favorite cable pattern:
