Post double crochet stitches are currently very important not only for triangular shawls. What kinds of things can you crochet with them? Why are post double crochet stitches so popular? Can you use them to crochet cuffs too?

An acquaintance of mine used them a lot, especially for children’s sweaters. I guess that keeps them from stretching out so quickly.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of post double crochet stitches, even though I think the pattern looks nice.
