Upcycling scraps: great with paper scraps + cardboard scraps too

You can turn empty cardboard rolls (from toilet paper) into beautiful, original gift packaging by crocheting around them. Let me show you a few examples:

 Queen’s Guard
The royal guard is a great gift box for all fans of London and England. The upper body can be removed so you can put some money, a gift certificate, or English toffees inside.


Münchner Kindl
Anyone who loves Munich is sure to know the Münchner Kindl. Here, too, the upper body can be removed. You could put a gift certificate for brewing beer or an invitation to Munich (perhaps to Oktoberfest, when it takes place again) inside the Münchner Kindl’s belly.


 Chef Charly
And here’s a gift box for all hobby cooks. Fill Charly’s belly with spices, a special recipe, a gift certificate for a cooking class, or an invitation to dinner.

Would you like to make your door wreath out of paper for a change? This one is sure to turn out well for you!

In addition to a larger piece of photo cardstock, you’ll need lots of small scraps for this – a wonderful opportunity to use them up!



The wreath is approx. 28 cm in size and consists of a base shape and 36 individual elements that create the curved shape. The whole thing is then finished off with poinsettias.

With these glitter baubles, you have an excellent way to beautifully enhance even your very small scraps of photo cardstock or effect paper.



It does take a little while to cut out all the individual pieces of the 9 cm ornaments and decorate them with glitter liner, but it’s fun and easy to do!
