Pumpkin Pyramid in Rade

Hello everyone,
we took a trip to Rade to Hof Bartels. They didn't have musical pumpkins like Andrea's, but there were lots of them in all sizes, shapes, and colors. They also offered farmer's golf and a corn maze. For the children, there were straw climbing hills.
The weather wasn't that great, but it was fun and definitely worth seeing.

Wow, Marlies, the quantity and variety of pumpkins is really impressive. By the way, I just got a great tip for the pumpkins that aren’t eaten. After Halloween, the animals in the forest will be happy to have them. But they have to be cut up first so no animal gets its head stuck inside.

That way, they at least serve a purpose.

Oh Marlies, what a feast for the eyes! Sooo many different pumpkins—amazing! I love that orange color and the variety, too. The people who create these displays are true artists. And everyone had a great time.

Seeing the straw bales for climbing reminded me of my childhood. When I was about 5 years old, we lived in an old house with a big yard. And then one day a tractor came and unloaded those straw bales. They were all stacked up, and we kids spent days climbing all over them. It did prick a bit—after all, it was summer and we weren’t wearing much—but it was so much fun. Thank you for bringing back this memory.

And thank you for sharing the photos and story. I also think Monika’s tip is great! She always thinks of the animals—very commendable!

It’s always amazing what people create with pumpkins, and the variety of colors and shapes. My favorites are the orange ones, too—especially the ones with the funny faces.
My mom always makes pumpkin soup. I’ll eat it with her sometimes, but pumpkins like that aren’t really my thing (only as decoration, not for eating). Back when I was at my grandma’s, she always served pumpkin compote—I never liked that.
