For many of you, this will be a long weekend thanks to All Saints’ Day. That gives you plenty of time to devote to some lovely crafts.
That’s why I’m sharing a few
“wintery” gift wrappings
with you today. I’m sure you have the right materials at home.

For the “Snowman” bottle cover, you’ll need 100 g of white cotton yarn; you can crochet the rest using leftover yarn. This bottle cover makes a great, personalized gift wrap for all kinds of bottles. (When it’s especially cold outside: maybe some delicious mulled wine?) And the best part is: the wrapping can be reused over and over again. That way, the recipient can use it to give a bottle as a gift themselves—and maybe it’ll even find its way back to you someday—who knows?

If you like to give sweets as gifts, why not crochet this cute penguin mom onto the lid of an empty, rinsed-out jam jar? She’s protectively wrapped a wing around her baby—is it to keep it from getting cold, or to comfort it? You can then fill the jar with homemade treats. And once it’s empty, you can light it up from the inside with an LED string of lights.

You don’t necessarily need wrapping paper to wrap gifts beautifully for Christmas. You can use these crocheted bags with Christmas motifs to wrap all sorts of things—whether bottles, gingerbread, candy, or slightly odd-shaped gifts. And here, too, the packaging is sustainable because it can be reused year after year.
For one bag, you’ll need about 50 g of the main color and another 30 g or so for the crocheted pattern.
