What are your plans?

Thanks—a relaxing long weekend; Tuesday is a holiday here in Austria.
We decided today that everyone can do whatever they enjoy. Of course, that includes getting some exercise together in nature; I’ll be doing some crafts and taking care of our meals. My husband will be tinkering around in the hobby workshop, and the dogs, as always, will make sure we stay active :-)

I’ll be spending a lot of time on the computer this weekend, catching up on a few things. I’ll also be getting the garden ready for winter, and there are actually still some raspberries to pick. A walk in the woods is also on the agenda.

I’ve finished knitting the “Schellenursli” hats, so now it’s time to knit a hat for myself (a “regular” hat) 😊

Last night I decided I need a hat to match my triangular shawl. So today I’ll be crocheting, baking bread (with walnuts), and tonight we’re invited over to friends’ for dinner.

Tomorrow I get to help my grandson with his homework. The homework assignment is: Go out into nature and collect leaves, pieces of bark, and fruit from trees. He thinks I’m the only one who can help him complete this task. I’m really looking forward to it and hoping for dry weather. And while we’re out there, we’ll also scoop up some molehill soil for the turtles’ winter quarters.

I’m sewing buttonholes by hand on my winter jacket; since it’s bouclé fabric, machine-sewn buttonholes won’t work—I have to use either piped buttonholes or hand-sewn ones. The numbers are
skyrocketing again here, and since my husband only got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in the spring—and that vaccine has now been deemed insufficient—we’re staying home until we get our booster shot on November 10. I still have plenty to do, since my cardigan needs to be finished, so I definitely won’t be bored.
