Diamond pattern / checkerboard pattern / checked pattern: What are the differences?

What is the difference between a diamond pattern, a checkerboard pattern, and a checked pattern?

A diamond pattern consists (as the name suggests) of (usually differently colored) diamonds, which are parallelograms with sides of equal length.

In a checkerboard pattern, squares in two colors are arranged alternately next to each other.

And a checkered pattern consists of lines that form squares.
