Floral fall greetings from the garden....

I was strolling through the garden today....
without my pruning shears or anything, and just took a moment to “admire” the flowers.
What beautiful flowers are blooming where you are????

The yellow in your garden is gorgeous. Unfortunately, I have no luck with yellow flowers—they always die.

At the moment, the sedum is stealing the show in my garden.

Your garden is lovely. It’s nice to just enjoy it for a change.....

Thanks, Steffi, for taking us on a tour of your colorful garden. It looks lovely there.

Thanks.....
We have lots of “corners” that just look natural, and we don’t have any plants that we need to “winterize” in any way.... In the summer, we occasionally give them a little cool water from the 2000-liter rainwater tank, and otherwise, we just let them grow....
Squirrels, birds, mice, and the like feel right at home here, though the mice have to be careful in the evenings and at night... that’s when my two cats are out and about 😼
Yesterday I processed our grapes—they’re super delicious, really sweet but also pretty small with lots of seeds... so we’re having grape juice...

Homemade grape juice.... that must be delicious.

That sounds like a garden just like ours...... I’m trying to let the garden take care of itself, too. We’re more than busy enough just pruning back the wild growth. Even after 10 years, there are still many spots in my garden that could use some sprucing up, but many plants have found their own spots, and sometimes I wonder where on earth they came from.

I’ve also laid out a few flower beds in the meantime and planted them with flowers.

That’s how I started—by the basement stairs—when we bought the house. We collected all the stones in our garden from fields or demolition sites in town.

A year later, it looked like this

Now the stones are overgrown, and I have to take really big steps to get down to the basement.

Since we feed the hedgehog regularly, this year two hedgehogs have even made themselves at home here

In our garden, alongside far too many weeds and wild growth, a few flowers are also thriving:

Christina, are those yellow fall asters? I can’t quite tell.

Wow, it looks so beautiful over there. Petra, I especially like the stones with the flowers in between. And you even managed to capture a photo of the hedgehog. Wonderful! There’s not much going on here either—except for harvesting, of course—and we have to get things ready for winter. We’re also feeding the hedgehog regularly now so he can go into hibernation well-fed. We still need to pad out his bed a little, then that’ll be done too. Trimming the hedges and shrubs is the only real work. Once our apple tree is bare, we’ll prune that, too. There’s quite a bit to cut back. But I love pottering around in the garden.

Steffi, we have grapes, too, but not enough to make anything with them. We’ll just eat them as is. I don’t have any photos right now—I’m just popping in briefly.

We have some wild corners too 👍
I think that’s just part of a garden....
When we moved in here in 2002, there was only a rectangular lawn with a tiny fir tree in the middle.... Now we have lots of “corners,” mostly perennial beds (low-maintenance)
It wasn’t all that many grapes either 😉, about 1.5 kg, for just under a liter of juice.... simply something to enjoy.
We didn’t get a single apple this year; last year there were only a few already. We’ll probably need a new tree.
The spot with the benches is my favorite place in summer when the wild rose is blooming 😍.... the dog lies under the table and the cat is in the needlework basket

Your garden is very green and has lots of bushes—I really like it. I can totally imagine enjoying the hottest part of the day here. A natural garden is worth its weight in gold.
