Crocheting in the Round

Hi, I’ve made various round crochet projects (headbands, little baskets, etc.). I’ve noticed that the “seam” runs diagonally. Is that supposed to be like that?

yes, that happens easily when crocheting in rounds. There are several tutorials online for different ways to crochet the transition so it’s straight. It’s best to check out YouTube.

If you’re crocheting in spiral rounds, yes, the seam will run diagonally.

To make it straight, you can work a slip stitch and 1 chain stitch at the end of each round, then work 1 single crochet into that same stitch, and continue crocheting as usual.
