Reward for his first report card

Our grandson has now finished his first year of school and proudly presented his first report card. It was several pages long, and it was very important that we look at all the smiley faces, because the smiley faces meant good grades.

As a reward, we sewed and did crafts for him yesterday and this morning. He’s a big zombie fan right now. So we made a storage pouch with a big “Z” on it and a book where he can draw all his imaginary characters with his Obbba. 





The pouch used to be a skirt that belonged to my daughter (his mom), so all I had to do was sew the bottom hem. Then I sewed around the waistband at the top and threaded a ribbon through it to close it. 



Obbba decorated the ring binder with a drawing of a zombie so you can tell right away that it’s a zombie book.

A great gift for a first report card.
I actually had a grandchild graduating from school this year—the boy also earned a great final report card with a 1.6 grade point average, but unfortunately, he couldn’t find an apprenticeship.
My youngest granddaughter has finished her first year of high school and also brought home a great report card—her average was 1.5—and she’s getting a small laptop from Grandpa as a reward. As grandparents, we’re so proud when our grandchildren do so well in school, aren’t we, Petra? :-)

Yes, Inge, that’s right. I’m glad he’s so eager to learn and enjoys class. I hope it stays that way for a long time.

You can also be proud of your two grandchildren. A 1.5 average is a great achievement at grammar school.

Our granddaughter also received her first report card, even though she was only in school until December. Otherwise, my daughter homeschooled her.

Now we’ll have a new first-grader starting school in September. I wonder if this school year will go just as smoothly?
