Benefits of acrylic yarn?

Dear users, dear designers,
do you enjoy working with acrylic yarn? Blended with cotton or on its own? What are the benefits of acrylic yarn?

if someone doesn't like acrylic yarn per se, I can absolutely understand that. Cheap acrylic yarn is really unpleasant, even just to work with.

But I do think synthetic fibers have their advantages too, at least when they are high quality. My older daughter, for example, can't tolerate real wool - no matter how soft it feels to us, she reacts badly to it ;-) For cozy cowls or hats, I've found a great yarn that is a blend of acrylic and polyamide - it's super soft and easy to care for. I've even knitted myself a cowl and a hat from it, and they are very comfortable to wear. I wouldn't want to wear a sweater or anything similar made from it, though...

I prefer to work with a 50/50 cotton-acrylic blend.

For a blanket, for example, I prefer to use acrylic yarn over cotton because it’s lighter, easy to care for, and still keeps you warm.

As I’ve already mentioned, there are many different types of acrylic yarn. I’ve tried quite a few, and I often really like blended yarns—especially for kids’ items that need to be washed frequently, or for balls and figures that my grandson wants. I’m a bit cautious about 100% acrylic. I often feel like it crackles when I’m crocheting or knitting, and I really don’t like that.
