So it's done, and so am I ;-) The pattern is now only size 48/50 and no longer 54, which makes me almost happier than the finished tunic.

It really turned out great. 

You really are a sewing wizard, Inge. My mom used to sew everything back then—all her clothes. I always admired that so much. She couldn’t walk past a fabric store without stopping. I tried it once, too, when my son was little. But now I prefer to knit. It’s great when you’re as good at it as you are. You save a lot of money that way.

Monika, my husband already starts breaking a sweat ;-) :-) when I say I’m going shopping with my older daughter—he knows full well that the two of us are heading to the next fabric store, since my daughter is a seamstress and sews a lot, too ;-)
I rarely walk past the fabric stores here without buying something, and we have four of them in town :-)

Well, Inge, you really live in the perfect spot with all those fabric stores. It must be like a land of milk and honey for you... for me, it would be more like a yarn shop. ;-)

Oh, we’re not short on those either—we even have five stores where you can buy yarn in Schweinfurt. That’s when my son-in-law always says, *“Don’t let her into the yarn stores, or I’ll end up drowning in yarn someday”* :-) ;-). When my dear daughter says, “Come on, Mom, let’s take the bus into town,” my son-in-law turns pale ;-) because right at the bus station we have Frau Wolle, a store that’s a paradise for every knitter.
