Embroidery Projects 2021: What Are You Working On?

Right now, I’m working on two embroidery projects. I’d actually promised my granddaughter that I’d embroider a picture based on a photo of her, and I’d already started on it.
But now my grandson has asked for an embroidered picture for his First Communion. Since the First Communion is in a month, I’ve moved his project to the top of my list and am working at full speed. It probably won’t be finished by then, but I want to get as far along as possible so I can show him something. That’s why I don’t have time for anything else right now ;-)


Here’s how far I’ve gotten at the moment:

How’s your embroidery coming along?

The First Communion picture for my grandson is almost done! However, I’ve decided to skip a few rows along the edge and make the picture a little smaller. It’ll be finished in the next few days, and then I’ll take another picture of it. I’ll wait to frame it until after the celebration, since that takes about two more weeks.
  Then it’ll be a break from embroidery for a while, and I’ll do a bit of crocheting again: I have so many ideas in my head that are just waiting to be brought to life. In between, I’ll keep working on the embroidery for my granddaughter. But since there’s no set deadline for that one, I can take my time a bit more.
Well, and then my other granddaughter got in touch and wants one, too...

I’ve embroidered two little cards 

The first of the two pictures is finished—just in time for First Communion on Sunday. I have to admit, though, that I didn’t embroider a strip of about 6 and 8 cm on the right and bottom edges, respectively. But the main part is in the picture, and the dark background and foreground might have been too dominant otherwise. In any case, I’m very happy with the result. Now the picture just needs to be framed, but we’ll do that after the celebration.

Thank you! Yes, it was a lot of work, but it’s also very relaxing because you don’t have to think while you’re doing it—everything is already pre-drawn. All you need are good eyesight and good lighting.
