Alpaca fiber doesn’t pill, split, or shed; it’s breathable and has excellent thermal and stain-resistant properties. It’s very gentle on the skin, as it doesn’t prick and is hypoallergenic. It’s hypoallergenic because it contains no wool grease (lanolin). It’s no wonder that, among the Incas, alpaca fiber was reserved exclusively for kings and is still often called “the fleece of the gods” today.
