Sponge yarn, such as Creative Bubble, is not only suitable for dish and bath sponges. I especially like to use it as edging on doll clothing or hand puppets to give the clothes a little extra flair.

Here are a few examples:
Ice Skating Costume for Fashion Dolls
The neckline, sleeve cuffs, and skirt hem of the ice skating costume were crocheted around here with iridescent sponge yarn; the dress itself is made from cotton yarn. This makes the little dress sparkle beautifully. The earmuffs are also made from sponge yarn.


Devil Hand Puppet
Four different yarns were used for the devil: red cotton yarn, black chenille yarn, red sponge yarn, and black curly doll hair yarn.


Mini Easter Door Wreath
I also used cotton yarn and sponge yarn for the mini door wreath. The fringy green sponge yarn makes the Easter nest look as if it were made from grass.
