Special Visitor

I’d like to show you our special visitor. It’s been coming to see us almost every day for the past two years and eats its way through our food. What kinds of regular visitors do you all have?

Great spotted woodpeckers are nesting in our old cherry tree at our new house. The woodpecker dad built the hole last fall—we were practically in a race with him, tapping and hammering away😂
Now I can watch them from the kitchen window—it’s so lovely 😊 

Those are great photos. I’d love to have residents like that, too.

We live near the forest. Squirrels have stopped by every now and then, but only when passing through. A fox has wandered in twice—luckily, it moved on right away.

You have such cute little residents there, and so close by. Wonderful.
We sometimes get a few little birds, a cat, and even a squirrel and some magpies. But before I can take a picture, they’re already gone. Unfortunately

How cute is that? Oh, I’m a little jealous of you two. We’re surrounded by nature too, but we haven’t been able to spot any cute guests like that yet.

I’d also be delighted by visiting squirrels or nesting great spotted woodpeckers.
Well, who knows, maybe that’ll still happen.

We’ve had quite a few visitors. Last year, a young woodpecker came to see us regularly, but having a nest right here is a real highlight 💓 With squirrels, you really need patience and lots of nuts—preferably already shelled 😅

Back in 2018, we had a titmouse that would slip into our awning every evening to sleep. It didn’t care whether we were there or not. As soon as it got dark, it would show up and go to sleep. 

That’s definitely a highlight and something special, Petra. A tit that’s so trusting and has chosen your awning as its sleeping spot. So cute!
