Dear users, dear authors,
How’s your garden doing?

Our garden is still dormant, except for a few crocuses. Since it’s going to get cool again over the next few days, we’re putting off the gardening for now. That leaves more time for crafts. :)

I haven’t really been able to get to work in the garden yet, but I did loosen up the soil a bit around the snowdrops and crocuses; I’ll take care of everything else once the temperatures rise again

Yeees, that beloved garden... I had 1 cubic meter of potting soil delivered... and I’ve been spreading that pile around for days now...I did the same thing two weeks ago with mulch… that’s my exercise… I love it… in between, I’m transplanting perennials, dividing them first… then planting flower bulbs, tidying up the patio so it’ll be as beautiful as it was last year… it’s wonderful… and of course, crocheting in the sun every now and then…

That sounds like a lot of work, but a blooming garden is reward enough—keep up the great work :)

Our garden is still holding back a bit. We’ve already cleared away the old leaves (winter protection), pruned the fruit trees, and gotten the greenhouse ready. The first radishes are now sprouting inside. It’s still too cold for flowers here, but a few snowdrops are already bringing us joy. And bees are already buzzing around, too. They’re enjoying the bee pasture by our pond. And the bell pepper seeds are already in their bed of potting soil. However, the pots are in the warm sunroom. Since bell peppers always take a long time to grow, they’ll be keeping me company in the sunroom for many more weeks.

But for now, winter is here to stay for a while, so the garden can still rest… and so can we :-)

I pruned our 20 hydrangeas and trimmed the hibiscus bushes.
The next step is to clean the patio and get the garden furniture out.
Only then will I tackle the flower beds.
It feels soooo good to see everything coming back to life and turning green again. And when the sky is blue to boot, it really warms your heart.

This week, I cut back some wilted flowers and grasses.

The crocuses and snowdrops are already starting to fade, and the daffodils are pushing their way up. The first wild primroses are already

blooming. It’ll be a little while yet before I can get back to gardening. Today it’s a few degrees cooler again and there’s no sun.
