A little spring greeting

I'm sending you a little spring greeting. They bloomed so quickly—in just two days. The buds were still completely closed.

Some are already blooming in my garden, too; together with the snowdrops, it looks really beautiful.

Thanks, Andrea! I really love daffodils, too. They’re already peeking out in the garden, but it’ll take a few more days because it’s going to get cooler again starting tomorrow.

Thank you, Andrea. Did you grow the daffodils yourself in a pot, or did you buy them? I’m hoping there will be some available here once the garden centers open. In the garden, only the tips are starting to peek through—there’s still time for them to bloom.

I bought the daffodils. Out here, of course, everything is still gray, with hard, cold ground. Nothing grows.
Unlike in Germany, where crocuses and snowdrops come up on their own, here you have to go looking for them.
That’s why I brought a little color home with me, and I’m enjoying this little burst of blooms. We don’t have a garden.

A few little flowers really do lift your spirits. The yellow brightens our day when everything outside is gray.

Now these little blooms are bringing joy to your room, and next year, once you’ve planted them, your garden will be colorful and wonderful.

Here’s a quick tour of our garden from yesterday—March 5. The sun came out for a little while.

Yes, that’s right—I was still feeling the spring vibe yesterday, too. But today winter is back with snow and rain. The sun will shine again tomorrow, but it’ll stay chilly for now.

The flowers will probably survive. Imagine that—the starlings have been back here for a few days now. And they’re swarming our bird feeder. The bird feed balls are gone in a flash—1-2-3—and have to be refilled every day. With this cold weather, they can’t find anything else to eat. And today I actually saw a pair of blackbirds already building a nest in a tree in front of the house. I was really amazed. I wonder if it’ll work out?
