Translation of a Crochet Pattern

Hi, unfortunately this pattern is only available in English. I don’t think my English is that bad...
but I’m having trouble understanding some of the English abbreviations.
Can anyone help me with the first row?

First row: ch 15, bs in the 4th st from the hook, ch 2, bs in the same st, ch 3, skip 3 st, ch 4, skip 2 st, sc, ch 3, skip 3 st, (bs, ch 2, bs) in the last ch.

Thanks

Hi,

maybe you could try contacting the author of the pattern directly? That person would probably be best able to help you, since the explanation is actually a bit unclear.

Here’s what I can translate so far:

First row:
ch 15 = chain 15
bs in 4th st from hook = bs (I’m not familiar with this as a common abbreviation, and it should be explained in the pattern) in the 4th chain stitch from the hook
ch 2 bs in the same st = 2 chain stitches, bs in the same stitch as the first bs
ch 3, skip 3 st = 3 chain stitches, skip 3 stitches
—there’s a missing crochet instruction here; possibly sc = single crochet, as shown further down?
ch 4, skip 2 st = 4 chain stitches, skip 2 stitches
sc = single crochet
ch 3 skip 3 st = 3 chain stitches, skip 3 stitches
(bs, ch 2, bs) in the last ch = in the last chain stitch of the foundation chain: bs (?), 2 chain stitches, bs in the same stitch

Best regards, Sonja

Thank you so much!
The "bs" is also a mystery to me... and unfortunately, the author isn't responding to me.

Hi.
I did some research, and it might be called a “bean stitch.”
See if the pattern mentions a bean stitch anywhere.

Best regards,
Michaela

P.S. – It might also be called a bobble stitch.
Without knowing which pattern this is, it’s hard to figure out what it means.
Let us know which pattern it is (don’t post a link—that’s not allowed here—just write the name).

The way Sonja explained it, that’s how I’d read it too. I actually crochet a lot from English patterns.

“bs” could be a bobble stitch, i.e. a bobble stitch or popcorn stitch.

Good luck

Best regards

Thank you so much. I think “bobble stitch” makes sense.

I’ll let you know if that was it… thanks
