Bobbin Lace

Would you like to share something about bobbin lace-making?

Would anyone else like to say something about this?

I had to learn it as a child, but I always hated doing it. It wasn’t until I got a little older—as a teenager, of all times—that I started again and made a lot of things. Mostly blankets or borders for large tablecloths—all very time-consuming.
At some point, I stopped again because it no longer suited my taste—I didn’t want to have lace lying around—and then I started a family, which brought other priorities.
Around Christmas, I got a call from a friend who told me how much she looks forward every year to the bobbin-laced ornaments for the Christmas tree that I’d once made for her—they must be at least 25 years old by now!!
So some people still like it, but lace just isn’t in style anymore, and it takes a very long time to finish something—patience is the magic word here. Many people just don’t have that anymore; everything has to be done so quickly these days.
