Baby Flocke

I recreated my daughter’s dog as a puppy; they have a Kuvasz, a Hungarian herding dog. After I had recreated the family as dolls, my daughter asked me whether I could make Flocke too. I told her that would take a while, because I first had to design the pattern and so on, and sew a test version. After days of work, what came out first was a *sheep*—that was the first pattern. Good thing I sewed a test version then, because that way I could see where I needed to make changes to get the pattern the way I wanted it. I’m showing you the *sheep* too, because as such it isn’t even that bad :-). I used old terry cloth for the test sewing—wow, turning that inside out was really hard work; that stuff was stiff as a board.

The lamb looks great. You did a good job making the transition from the lamb to the dog. The dog still needs a knee on each front leg—that way, you can bend them better. Once the legs get a little sturdier, it’ll look fantastic.

Wow, Inge, they both look really cute. I like the sheep best. The dog has a typical dog pose. I’ve never seen a dog like that before. You’re sure to score some points with your family with these.

I really like it, and the Kuvac itself is a beautiful dog. Your family will be thrilled.
