Until recently, I hadn’t heard of it either, but it’s taking the whole world by storm and is a total blast.
It’s a real earworm. There’s an online tutorial video showing the dance steps. It’s seriously awesome.
Not hard at all.
The Corona Dance—you can dance together while keeping your distance.
You can find videos of it all over the internet: people dancing at the fire station, in the hospital, at a nursing home, at the airport... Check them out.
No, I hadn’t heard of it until Andreas’s post. Yeah, the things that suddenly become hits. When I think back to the Lambada craze—that started out the same way, too. It’s just something new and different, and thanks to the internet, it’s spreading rapidly around the world and sweeping everyone along with it. The rhythm is nice and steady and the movements are fluid—it really makes you want to join in.
Very interesting—I haven’t heard of that one either. Sounds interesting; I’ll have to check it out.
The Lambada was great, but unfortunately it kind of fell by the wayside at some point...
I know “Jerusalema” as a dance challenge; Motsi Mabuse participated with her dance school and explains the fairly simple steps.
At first, I didn’t think the song was all that great, but now the so-called “Corona Anthem” has become a real earworm for me, and the positive energy really does rub off on me when I hear it. I like it and think it’s just beautiful—and like everything else, of course, it’s entirely a matter of taste.
Like everything in life, dance is a matter of taste. In these crazy times, though, it’s a little ray of hope for me that there’s a bit of togetherness again. It’s not hard to join in either… nobody can see me here anyway… lol.
I happened to read a report in the newspaper about a dance performance at a big discount store near me. There’s also a video of it, and when I watched it, my eyes popped out of my head. A good friend of mine works there. I was absolutely amazed at how skillfully he moved his 150 kg. It looked really great. A lot of “skinny” people could take a page from his book.
I think it’s great that so many people are getting involved and sharing it on video.
