I stumbled upon this thread again and found even more nostalgic treasures.
I still have two of my children’s books in my collection that I treasure. My parents gave them to me back then.

And this one is from my mom—a bottle opener and corkscrew...

Dear Andrea,
It’s lovely that you brought this thread back up with your comment. It’s worth reading again. Your nostalgic little treasures are lovely and precious. A small bar set like that was very fashionable back then - and it looks pretty too. Today, these “tools” just lie around in a drawer. Back then, people made a bit of a ceremony of such things.
While reading the thread, which is from 2021, I came across a post by Monika - mowi19 - .
"... I still love this autograph album. The most beautiful verse someone wrote in it, I know by heart:
When one day in later years
my name is mentioned,
remember me and say:
I knew her too.
And when the time should come
that you completely forget me,
then you can read here
who wrote it."
And now Monika has already been dead for over half a year, and the autograph-album verse takes on a much deeper meaning. Even if all of us will one day no longer be here on earth, our thoughts, words, and pictures will remain here in this forum as a memory for everyone. That is somehow comforting.
Best wishes, Ina
