You need quite a lot of material for blankets. A while back, I crocheted a blanket for my colleague’s dog to lie on the office floor. For this purpose, you can also use a color you’re not quite as fond of or yarn you still have in stock—and feel free to use double or triple strands. The blanket was designed to roll up with a tie and button on one end and a small loop serving as a buttonhole on the other. It used up an entire box of yarn.
