Hi. I’ve never knitted with a yarn cake before. Is it true that each color is knotted? What should I pay special attention to when crocheting? Best regards, Karo

The colors in a cake yarn aren’t actually knotted; they run continuously in a color gradient. There might only be a knot now and then if the thread had broken. Usually, there’s a picture on the label of the cake yarn showing how the color gradient works out, and you can use that to plan your projects.

the Bobbel yarn cakes I’ve worked with so far have all had knots.
They’re usually made of 3 or 4 thin strands. The knots are so tiny that you can work with them without any problems.
Many people here have worked with them before; maybe someone else can help you out.

The tiny knots appear with every color change, since one or more new strands of yarn are needed for each change.
That’s one difference from gradient yarn.

Crocheting or knitting with multi-stranded yarn takes some getting used to, at least at first.
