Fine Wool

Dear users, dear authors,
what is fine wool and what can you do with it?

Alpaca is a luxury wool used to make clothing, mostly coats and jackets, but if it is very fine, also sweaters and capes.

Cashmere is also a luxury wool and is very light and warm, making it suitable for coats and the like.

Merino is mostly made into sweaters and cardigans, but it is also woven and processed into blankets and coats.

Mohair is the undercoat of the Angora goat and is also mostly made into sweaters and cardigans.

All 4 types of luxury wool are very high-quality wools thanks to their light weight and fine fibers, and they are not exactly the cheapest, but simply the best wool there is.

Yak is also a luxury wool—it’s perfect for cowls and scarves and is incredibly soft. 

Two years ago, two truly exquisite skeins found their way to me....
A blend of alpaca, silk, camel, and cashmere... 600m/100g
It’s wonderfully soft, and I’m sure it will drape beautifully when knitted.
I wanted to knit a shawl, but so far I haven’t found the perfect pattern. At over 40€ per skein, it’s a decision that needs to be carefully considered...
