Wishes, yes; resolutions, no—except for one: not to make any resolutions again, because they never work out anyway :-)
My biggest wish is that we all stay healthy and that we finally get this stupid COVID-19 under control and can send it packing.
I don’t really have any resolutions, but I have plenty of wishes: that hotels will finally be allowed to reopen, and guests will come back—then I’ll have work again;
that we’ll finally be able to travel to Germany again (to go on vacation, hug our parents and kids again, and meet up with old school friends). That’s what I’m hoping for. Good health for everyone, and that we’ll get the virus under control.
I’m looking forward to the end of the lockdown and the many opportunities that will open up again as a result—going to the movies, visiting an exhibition, or seeing a ballet performance. That would be nice. No more sitting alone in the office, but reconnecting with colleagues again—no more online meetings.
It would be great if we could still meet our climate goals even after the COVID-19 crisis.
My heart goes out to the people who have to endure the worst conditions in refugee camps.
Combating terrorism is another issue, and I hope political disputes aren’t resolved through acts of war.
I also hope that sustainability isn’t just a buzzword.
Well, the list could certainly go on...
New Year’s resolutions? I definitely have some. Leading a healthy lifestyle isn’t always easy to put into practice in my day-to-day life. So I’ve resolved to get plenty of exercise in the fresh air, eat a healthy diet, and maintain my positive outlook on life. One very personal wish is that I’ll be able to successfully bring my creative ideas to life.
As usual, I don’t have any resolutions.
That way, you can’t fail in that regard and end up feeling dissatisfied with yourself.
Before the pandemic and my pregnancy, I went to the gym very regularly. It was always kind of funny… In January, all of a sudden, it was absolute chaos, and I’d look forward to when all the newbies would give up by mid-February at the latest and I could get back to working out in peace.
My wishes are the same as probably everyone’s right now: normalcy.
Above all, though, I hope my family stays healthy and that we’ll have many more years together.
Everything else will work itself out somehow.
As a “luxury wish,” I’d love to be able to eat in a relaxed atmosphere again and go to the spa. And in the summer, maybe take a 1–2 week trip to the North Sea with my two men.
