Dear users, dear authors,
what's the weather like where you are?

It looks more like “making a water man” than “building a snowman” here.

It’s pouring rain here, and the temperatures make it feel like Easter is just around the corner, not Christmas.

Just typical Christmas weather. At least for the past few years...

At the foot of the Swabian Alb, it’s 14 degrees and there’s been no rain so far. So it feels more like spring than cold winter weather.

We’re also having spring-like temperatures and heavy rain here, but we haven’t had any snow for a few years now

It’s raining right now, and it’s still way too warm for this time of year, but that’s supposed to change by Christmas Day. With a little luck, we might even get a light dusting of snow!

In the Altes Land, it poured buckets of rain yesterday right into the night.
Today it’s just raining.
Let’s wait and see if a few snowflakes find their way here or if it at least freezes so we can enjoy some hoarfrost.

First of all, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Here’s what it looks like where we are right now. These photos were taken one day before Christmas Eve.
A December walk along the Drammenfjord. The dark photos were taken against the sun—that was intentional.

Thanks, Andrea, for your beautiful photos!
It was white here this morning, and I was really happy about it. Unfortunately, it’s all gone again now and it’s just wet. But since it’s getting colder, maybe the next snowfall will stick around.

After five snowflakes fell from the sky yesterday—though the rest of the day was otherwise nice and dry—everything is covered in a beautiful frost this morning.

I’ve already filled my molds with water and set them outside—I want to make an ice cake for the entryway. If it stays cold, I’ll definitely post some pictures.

Andrea, your blue sky never fails to amaze me. I often look up at the sky here, but I’ve never seen a blue like that. It’s so beautiful.

We have about 30 cm of snow and it’s very cold.
On Christmas, it was really “guchset” (very strong wind with snow).
There are huge snowdrifts everywhere.....

Taken yesterday on our walk to the nature reserve pond—it was still sunny then.

bergli: I envy you the snow; here, everything is green and brown again after the wet slush on Christmas morning.b And today it’s cold, gray, and just plain dreary.
I’d never heard the expression “guchse*” before—that’s what I find so fascinating about our many dialects.

Bastelfan: I always really like your pictures, and they reinforce my desire to go to Norway (again)—it’s been over 40 years since my student trip to the North Cape.

In the morning, it often looks like THIS... then it thaws again during the day...
