What to do with leftover yarn / cut-off ends?

Hi everyone :)

I finally finished the C2C baby blanket for my nephew.
(Unfortunately, I can’t/don’t want to show it here, since it features a licensed design.)

Now I have a whole bunch of loose ends that I cut off. (There are sooo many...)

I saw somewhere once that someone made something out of the ends... I can’t remember… Was it a bowl? A lampshade? Somehow the ends were glued together, but I don’t remember how…

Does anyone know what I might be referring to? Or does anyone have another idea?
I’ve saved all the loose ends and think it would be cool to make something that goes with the blanket :)

(Please remember that you’re not allowed to copy links here :))

I’ve heard of using this kind of yarn as stuffing. It’s definitely well-suited for smaller items, like baby toys or something similar. In that case, though, everything should be made of the same material.

Otherwise, I could imagine using it as hair for a doll if the strands are knotted onto the head. I did that once with a doll I sewed for my son a while back.

If the strands aren’t too short, I could also imagine using them as fringe on something.

Get some water-soluble embroidery stabilizer, place the wool threads inside, stitch them down with a sewing machine, and then wash the whole thing out carefully—then you’ll have a piece of *wool fabric* you created yourself that you can use for whatever you want

I collect leftover yarn in a bag to add to the stuffing when making pillows and such.

Try Googling “bowl made from wool scraps”—there are some tips there

Thanks, everyone :)

A bowl made from leftover yarn—that’s exactly what I meant!

Let’s see what I actually end up making with it.
