Carnival Alternatives 2020

Dear users, dear authors,
Carnival celebrations aren’t really a good idea this year.
How are you handling this, especially with your children and grandchildren?

Since I’m not really a fan of Carnival anyway, I don’t have to look for alternatives :-)

I feel the same way. I don’t miss it at all. I’m actually looking forward to a cozy pre-Christmas season with lots of candles, homemade cookies, and plenty of time to do crafts. As far as I’m concerned, Carnival can just vanish into thin air. ;-)

Carnival, or “Fasching,” isn’t for everyone. But if you grew up with this tradition—which is more common in the Rhineland—you really miss it. At the same time, common sense tells us there are more important things right now.
Still, I—and I’m sure my family and friends as well—don’t want this tradition to just vanish into thin air. 

Well, I’ve never really celebrated November 11th anyway.
For us, things don’t really get going until late winter.

Actually, I was already looking forward to taking Leo to various parades and such next year to see if he’d enjoy it.
  Last year he was still too little, and since the virus was already on the rise, we just stayed home.
Well... I’m guessing there still won’t be any events in February.
Maybe we’ll have a little carnival party at home then 😊
