Dear users, dear authors,
here in this thread you’ll find the awards ceremony for the October projects.

In the link, you can read through the October projects again.
November Projects + October Projects Part 2: the Crazypatterns Handicraft Group (No advertising)

Info about the final stretch / awards ceremony:

How can I take part?
If you’d like to take part in the awards ceremony, copy the section of text between the asterisks in the post just below into your own text field / reply field, cross out everything that doesn’t apply to you, and fill in only what you’d like to write down.

When will the October awards ceremony take place?
Around November 4/5/6, 2020. Every participant will be included. Nobody goes offline without a title.

But I’m “only” a regular user here, not an author with my own shop on Crazypatterns. Can I still take part in the awards ceremony?
All users and all authors can take part in the Crazypatterns awards ceremony. Anyone who writes a corresponding post here in the final-stretch thread is then automatically included in the awards ceremony. Newcomers may take part too. If you don’t have an account yet, register for free and simply join in.

October title awards: every participant receives at least one title
If someone dealt with many challenges in everyday life / offline / in “normal” life without the internet in October 2020, this can, at the request of the respective user / author, be recognized with an
appropriate honorary title / with extra bonus points. If necessary, I will come up with a fitting title.

Earn extra points / bonus points and improve your own karma: Here’s how it’s done.
- For your own uploaded photos / images, there are extra
bonus karma points. Please do not upload third-party images or photos from the internet / internet photos for which you do not have the rights / photos that do not belong to you. These must be deleted.

- Finished handmade items that are given to dear people or also
donated will always earn you extra karma points or bonus points, to properly recognize the time, effort + energy spent on them.
--> Please provide the details here in the thread, if you would like to.

- Feedback to the Crazypatterns authors (e.g. in the form of reviews, comments, etc. ) is also always rewarded with extra points.
--> Please write down any details if applicable, if you would like to.

Template to copy in the post just below.

Bravely keeping at it during the COVID pandemic: become and remain a Corona Perseverance King/Queen
[ ] I am and will continue to be brave, meet the respective requirements (disinfecting, washing hands thoroughly, staying socially distant, staying home, wearing masks etc.), do not lose courage, and hope for the best.

UFO King/Queen in October / WIP King/Queen in October
[ ] In October, I finished one of my UFOs (= an unfinished object = an unfinished craft project that may have been waiting to be finished for quite a while) or one of my October WIPs (= work in progress = a craft project in progress, a project that was worked on for a longer time) and have therefore truly earned the title UFO King/Queen / WIP King/Queen in October.
Details about the respective UFO/WIP:

[ ] I was really very busy in October, finished several UFOs, and have therefore truly earned the October title UFO King/Queen/WIP King/Queen.
Details about the finished UFOs:

[ ] I am working toward the title Super Yarn Mountain Conqueror = This is a very long and very extensive yarn diet that continues after the honorary title

Distanz bleiben, daheim bleiben, Masken tragen etc. ), verliere meinen

Unfortunately, I had to expand my yarn stash by (too) many new colors, and also had to buy yarn for the zodiac wrist warmers and yarn for the potholders.

Pattern purchases in October: become a Crazypatterns King/Queen
[x] I bought more than 5 patterns in October.
Details:The most important pattern was the course for tapestry crochet. In addition, there were several patterns for the zodiac wrist warmers and several Christmas decorations.
Thank you to everyone who buys patterns here.

Wishlist Stocker-Upper / Watchlist Stocker-Upper
[x] My wishlist with all the patterns I would like / would like to have / would like to make has grown, because I enjoy clicking through the new items / bestsellers / highlights / the designers’ shops, etc.
Details:
I often put things on the watchlist that I like but that I know I won’t be able to make in the near future, usually due to lack of time: crafts, decorations, sometimes socks or gloves…
Sock Queen / Sock King in October
[x] I worked on new socks in October and, if applicable, finished at least one pair of socks.
--> For this honorary title, it is enough if you worked on new socks / new techniques for socks or practiced them using suitable patterns / videos or similar. Every step counts with socks. Please write details about it here in the thread.
I knitted socks from leftover yarn for my second grandchild.
Busy little helper with crafts and in everyday life
[ ] I was able to complete / finish / get done many crafts in October.
Details:
[ ] I was also very busy offline / in normal everyday life in October.
Write details here if you would like to tell something about it.

Forum King/Queen in October
[x] I created at least one post in the forum in October. The more, the better.
[x] I participated in the birthday threads or congratulated users and designers.
[x] I was part of the monthly Crazypatterns craft group and had fun with it. = The respective monthly project threads.
November Projects + October Projects Part 2: the Crazypatterns Craft Group (No advertising)
--> At least one check mark is needed. The more check marks, the better, of course :- )
Thank you for your many lovely posts.

Learned something new in October
[x] I learned something new in October (e.g. a technique /
type of stitch / type of craft, etc.) and am therefore a winner. :- )
Details:
In double-face knitting, I learned a new edge, and I discovered tapestry crochet.
Autumn in the garden / 2020 gardening season / TV evenings
[ ] I had pleasant cozy-blanket evenings / lots of fun crafting in front of the TV.
Details:Most of my crafts are made during cozy-blanket TV evenings, so I couldn’t do without them.
[x] I have already started crafting the decorations / gifts / clothing for autumn / Halloween / Advent / Christmas / winter / New Year’s Eve / spring, etc.
Details:
The first gifts (wrist warmers, potholders, both knitted in double-face) are already finished, as is a third potholder, and the gift for the little grandchildren is on the needles. The mug cozy and the hacky sacks are an order for Christmas gifts.

UFO Queen in October / WIP Queen in October
[x ] In October, I finished one of my UFOs (= that is an
unfinished object = an unfinished handmade project that may have
been waiting quite a while to be finished ) or one of my October WIPs ( =
work in progress = a handmade project in progress, a project that
had been worked on for a longer time ) and have therefore truly earned the
title UFO Queen / WIP Queen in October.
Details about the respective UFO/WIP:

This started project had been lying around at my place for a few months. Now in November I tackled it and finished it together with the pattern. It was my first crochet project after my wrist fracture. With thick hooks and thick yarn, it then moved forward round by round. That’s why I’m really proud of it. It is a 4 kg doorstop for my doors, since we often have drafts in the house (patio door open, hallway door open, front door open). So I needed protection for my grandchildren’s little fingers.

Busy Little Helper with Crafts and Everyday Life
[ x] In October, I was able to take care of / finish / complete many handmade projects.
Details about this:

Like every year in fall, I knitted lots of felted shoes in all kinds of styles and colors. Here they are gathered together again for you to look at:

Moccasins:

One-Step Felted Booties

And then also Ballet flats for children:

Forum Queen in October
[x ] I took part in the birthday threads and/or congratulated users and authors.
[x ] I took part in the monthly Crazypatterns craft group
and enjoyed it. = The
respective monthly project threads.
November Projects + October Projects Part 2: the Crazypatterns Craft Group (No Advertising )

Pattern Optimization Champion and Authors’ Hero = Author Title in October
[x ] In October, I finished and uploaded at least one new pattern.
--> Write details here. Link + image allowed.

Doorstop “Sandbag” - crochet pattern, also for crochet beginners, made from just one thick skein of yarn or leftovers

[x] In October, I revised and improved the product images for my patterns / my product texts / my shop.
--> Write details here. Link + image allowed.

Whenever I make things from my own patterns, I notice tiny little details that I can still improve. And while I was at it, I also added the pictures of the new models. They are always nice suggestions for what a product can look like when you make it from this pattern. This month it was about the felted shoe patterns for the
Moccasins and the One-Step Felted Booties.

[x ] In October, I used the advertising threads / other advertising opportunities on Crazypatterns.
--> Write details here, if you’d like to share them.

I like the many different advertising threads on CP. I can show my products and also look at other authors’ recommendations on the various topics. You can show new things and bring old ones back to mind; it’s like a little bit of window shopping. It’s fun and makes you want to do some DIY.

Fall in the Garden / Gardening Season 2020 / TV Evenings
[x] I had pleasant cozy-blanket evenings / lots of fun crafting in front of the TV.
Details:
[x ] I made use of sunny moments and had lots of fun in the garden / on the balcony, etc.
Details:

There are so many beautiful things to admire everywhere in fall. When I walk through my garden, I see all this splendor. You can always discover something new on walks, too. But when the weather is bad, I also really enjoy making myself comfortable in my sunroom with my craft project.

That’s it for the little look back at my crafting October. I wish all readers of this thread lots of fun and a wonderful November. Just enjoy whatever you can!

Warm regards from Ina

Thank you so much for all the beautiful and original titles, Josefa! As always, it was a lot of fun.

As for the topic of “crocheting a wooden floor,” I’m not quite sure how to fit it into a thread. The description is pretty extensive. Maybe I’ll write a pattern on it sometime.

Bravely keeping at it even during the coronavirus pandemic: become and remain a Corona Perseverance King/Queen
[x ] I am and will continue to be brave, meet the respective
requirements (disinfecting, thorough handwashing, social
distancing, staying home, wearing masks, etc.), won’t lose my
courage, and hope for the best.Leftovers-Best in October: leftovers are great
[x ] In October I used up lots of leftover yarn / fabric scraps / paper scraps /
cardboard scraps and have honestly earned myself the title Leftovers-Best
.
I used old “stepchild yarn” (pillow cover in c2c technique, squares for a granny blanket)
Details about the leftovers projects:Yarn Diet 2020 / Yarn Emperor/Empress / Inner Slob Conqueror in October 2020
[x ] I didn’t buy any yarn in October and therefore deservedly am Yarn Empress in October.
[ x] I haven’t bought any yarn for quite a while and am
therefore Yarn Empress of the month / quarter, etc. But the yarn diet is
over now; I will buy yarn in October / for Christmas.
--> I have been taking part in the yarn diet since January 2020
[ x] I would like to have the honorable title of brave Inner Slob Conqueror
because short yarn diets / yarn diets in between are simply
not enough. My goal is to make it through a whole year or even longer without
buying yarn.
Please state the total time period.
[x ] I am working toward the title Super Yarn Mountain Conqueror = This is a very
long and very extensive yarn diet that continues after the honorary title
Inner Slob Conqueror (= a whole year without buying yarn).
--> As far as I know, no one is currently working toward Yarn Mountain Conqueror,
but I’m leaving this here as motivational help for shorter /
short yarn diets. :- )
[x ] I am taking part in the yarn diet starting January 1, 2020, and will
diet for one month / a whole quarter / half a year or a whole year
and thereby earn myself the title or titles
Yarn Empress/Quarterly Empress/Half-Year Empress/Yarn Mountain Conqueror
.Forum King/Queen in October
[ x] I created at least one post in the forum in October. The more, the better.
[ x] I created forum threads (one or more) / new discussion threads in the forum in October. (story threads 3 words)
[x ] I participated in the birthday threads and/or congratulated users and authors.Rescuer of Stubborn Yarn, or Fabric Rescuer / Material Rescuer
[x ] In the month of October, I used up old or difficult yarn
and am an honorable Yarn Rescuer.Learned Something New in October
[ x] I learned something new in October (e.g., a technique /
type of stitch / type of craft, etc.) and am therefore a winner. :- )
Details: learned the corner-to-corner crochet technique
